On Sunday, 12 October Bishop Andrew Hedge joined us for worship at All Saints' Church in Taradale for a celebration of the grace of God and of Confirmation. With 11 candidates prepare, this was one of the largest confirmation services All Saints' has ever seen and is a sign of the life and faith that is being fostered within the parish. This is especially apparent when over half of the candidates have been baptised in only the past 12 months, joining us through Alpha, through youth ministries and through the promptings of the Holy Spirit to come and see that the Lord is God.
The Sunday was filled with celebration as we also welcomed a cohort from the AAW of St Mark's Suva who were visiting us. As a parish we have built a connection with St Mark's, one that continues and that will be built upon in the years ahead as we support one another from across the ocean that both divides but also unities us.
The celebration was also marked by the completion of many of the refurbishment projects within All Saints' Church. The lighting install particularly brought a mood and ambience to the environment that really helped to capture the spirit of the day, but also helped some of the photos taken to really look stunning.
Congratulations to Peter, Christina, Eddie, Braedon, Laura, Diego, Lucas, Sid, Edie, Louis and Ben on this moment of declaring your commitment to Jesus and to the following of his way in your life.
